　　The 15th day of the 1st lunar month is the Chinese Lantern Festival because the first lunar month is called yuan-month and in the ancient times people called night Xiao. The 15th day is the first night to see a full moon. So the day is also called Yuan Xiao Festival in China.

　　According to the Chinese tradition, at the very beginning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. At this time, p eople will try to solve the puzzles on the lanterns and eat yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) and get all their families united in the joyful atmosphere .

　　阴历正月十五的元宵节是中国因为农历的第一个月叫做元月,在中国古代人们把晚上叫做宵。15日是第一天晚上看到满月。所以这一天也被称为元肖节在中国。

　　根据中国的传统,在新的一年的开始,当有一个明亮的满月挂在天空,成千的彩灯就会被悬挂出来供人们欣赏。这时,人们会试图解决这个难题在灯笼上,吃元宵(糯米球)和所有家人的欢乐的气氛。
